Major General Larry K. Arnold, USAF (Ret.) Major General (Ret) Larry K. Arnold, a consultant in the Defense Industry, is President of The Arnold Group, LLC and a senior partner in Professional and Defense Technologies, LLC (PDTech, LLC). He retired from the United States Air Force on October 1, 2002. Today, Gen Arnold and his associates support the defense industry in a wide array of business areas to include HLD/HLS, Command and Control, Aircraft Sales, Integrated Air Defense, Strategic Business Planning, Army and Air Force Missile Systems, Corrosion Protection and other DOD and DHS programs. His customers include eight business units and strategic business areas for Raytheon Company; ARINC AES; Logis-Tech; Applied Research Associates; Burdeshaw Associates; Lockheed Martin – Akron; LM IT; and DFI. He and his associates have also performed studies directly for AF/XPX and NORAD/NORTHCOM J8. On September 11, 2001, Major General Larry K. Arnold was Commander of 1st Air Force and of the Continental U.S. NORAD Region, headquartered at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. During and after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, General Arnold launched hundreds of fighter, tanker and AWACS aircraft to thwart additional potential attacks. For Operation Noble Eagle ( the United States Military response to the,9-11, terrorist attacks), General Arnold was designated the commander of all military aircraft involved in restoring control of America’s skies, and over the next year, his Command flew over 25,000 sorties, in executing Operation Noble Eagle. General Arnold is a combat veteran of the Vietnam war during which he flew 153 combat missions in the F-4C Phantom. He has commanded at the flight, squadron, group, wing, center and numbered Air Force level, and he served in staff positions as the Air National Guard Advisor to Air University at Maxwell AFB, Alabama and as Assistant Director of the Air National Guard for Readiness at the Pentagon. General Arnold is a command pilot with more than 4,500 flying hours in ten types of aircraft, most recently the F-16 and F-15. General Arnold and his wife, Linda, live in Mt. Vernon, Virginia and have two grown children, Leslie and David.
